Weight Loss Surgery
Most women tend to hold onto fat easiest in their legs, waist, tummy, bum and breasts. This gives them a pear shape. Most men hold onto fat in their tummy, chest and bum. This gives them an apple shape. At times surgery seems like the easiest option to remove these fat cells and gain the desired shape and weight. If this feels like the path you want then here is some hints, tips and ideas on how to go about it. The various ways of changing your body weight includes:
- Breast Reduction/Enlargement
- Tummy Tuck
- Liposuction
- Belt Lipectomy (Lower Body Lift)
The most common types of surgery for weight loss is a tummy tuck an liposuction. These procedures either corect your body after weight loss or help you to loose weight by removing excess fat from troubled areas such as your stomach, your butocks, your legs and can be used for your lower back.
The basic procedure for a tummy tuck includes an incision made along the lower abdomin from one hip bone across to the other in a V shape. It runs from your hip bone down to your pubic bone and across to the other hip bone. The next incision is used to seperate the abdominal wall from the navel. After this they continue to seperate the skin up to ribcage therefore exposing the vertical abdominal muscles. These muscles are then put into new position and stitched giving a thinner waist and tightened muscles. The excess skin left is then stretched and removed. The remaining skin is laid back into place and stitched. As you can see this is not a procedure to loose weight but to help reshape your body after the weight has gone.
Liposuction is a procedure that uses a cannula(a long hollow needle)to suck out the fatty deposits that have adhered just under the skin. Incisions are made in the skin wherever the cannula is to be inserted. The incision size is dependant on the size of cannula to be used. They come in sizes ranging from 1.5mm to 6mm depending on how big an area is being removed. The cannula scrapes along the skin wall lossening these deposits and with the help of a vacuum are sucked out of the body.
